conceived as moldable sanding tools that can be reshaped on the go, the 'sandables' kit - a project
by several collaborators currently being funded on quirky - provides gritty modeling clay blocks for maximum utility.
'sandables' are a polycaprolactone (PCL) material that becomes more pliable at higher temperatures -
after three minutes in the microwave - the substance can be shaped like modeling clay into any form required.
a stick for added reach, or sculpted to fit within a tight corner. with three distinct grits the
blocks can be endlessly re-used. the product allows the user to reach awkward
nooks and crannies for precise woodworking.
